Coming later

Keyholder.

Answers the bin question. Takes the repair request.

Keyholder will answer your residents’ questions and take their requests. WhatsApp and email, answered in one place.

Requests · example of how it will work

Example only. Tap a request to mark it “Handled”. These aren’t real requests.

What it will do

What it will do, before you see it.

Answers the routine

Bin days, parking, rent dates, Wi-Fi. From your own notes.

Takes requests

Repairs, access, spare keys. Written up the same way every time.

Passes on decisions

Paint colours, pets, deposits. Those are for a person.

Keeps one list

Every question and request, in one place, for whoever opens up.

It will show its work

Every answer will come with its reason.

  1. Answered the bin-day question. Why: it’s in your resident notes.
  2. Logged a repair request for 12 Rowan Close: dripping tap. Why: repairs go on your list, and Priya books them.
  3. Passed “paint the bedroom green?” to Priya. Why: it’s a decision, not a fact.

Example log, written for this page.

It will know when to stop

Decisions stay with people.

  • If a message mentions danger or gas, the reply starts with: If anyone is in danger, call 999. If you smell gas, leave the property and call 0800 111 999 (Great Britain) or 0800 002 001 (Northern Ireland).
  • It only gives safety steps that you have written and approved. If there isn’t one, it doesn’t make one up.
  • It won’t decide about pets, deposits or paint colours.
  • It won’t give medical or legal advice.
  • Say “person” and it hands over to your team. It stops replying straight away.

When someone from your team joins, Keyholder will stop replying. Straight away.

Example

A repair request, on a Tuesday.

Keyholder will answer what it can, write up what it can’t and pass on what needs a person. You read one list.

The kitchen tap is dripping. Can someone fix it?

LanternKey assistant · AI

Hi, I’m the assistant for Linden Property Group. I’m an AI, so I’ll keep it quick. I’ve logged a repair request for the kitchen tap. Is it dripping or running?

Dripping. Slowly.

LanternKey assistant · AI

Thanks. Priya books repairs, and she’ll see this today. Say “person” and I’ll hand this over to the team.

Also, can I paint the bedroom green?

LanternKey assistant · AI

That’s a decision for Priya, not me. I’ve passed it on.

Priya joined. LanternKey has stopped replying.

Example conversation, written for this page to show how Keyholder is designed to work. It isn’t running yet. Not a real resident. The times are made up too.

Keyholder questions.

When will it be ready?

We don’t have a date yet. We’re starting with First Light. See First Light and we’ll tell you where this one stands.

Which channels will it cover?

WhatsApp and email. Phone calls come later still.

Where will it get its answers?

From your own notes: bin days, parking, rent dates. If the answer isn’t in your notes, it says so and passes the question on. It doesn’t guess.

What if someone reports an emergency?

If a message mentions danger or gas, Keyholder starts its reply with the safety line: If anyone is in danger, call 999. If you smell gas, leave the property and call 0800 111 999 (Great Britain) or 0800 002 001 (Northern Ireland). It then passes the message to your team. It doesn’t replace the emergency services.

Does it give safety advice?

Only steps that your team has written and approved. If there isn’t one, it says so and passes the message to your team. It doesn’t make one up.

Will people know it is an AI?

Yes. It is built to say so in the first line, every time. When your team joins the chat, it stops replying.
